Yoga Class Description

deep and easy yoga for those students seeking a slower pace yoga with an aspect of deep gentle stretching.  This is a class that fits Every-BODY.  We come into the breath and quiet the mind as we find steadiness in asana and attain increased flexibility, strength and balance. Each class provides personal modifications and emphasizes integrating mind, body, energy, and breath–all within a supportive environment using props to deepen the practice. In addition to sequencing for an energetic effect, meditation, pranayama, guided visualization, and mantra are offered.  All levels of practice are welcome.

Here you will be given the tools to help you on your journey towards better health and wellness. Therapeutic Yoga is a particularly effective practice for those recovering from, or living with, injury, illness or inflexibility. Although EVERY-Body will benefit from practical applications in this practice. Therapeutic Yoga blends feldenkrais, cranial sacral, restorative yoga, gentle yoga, breathwork, hands-on healing, and guided meditation techniques combined in such a way that it is an excellent choice for those who need something gentle yet effective tools for bringing the body into balance and reducing stress. Therapeutic Yoga is a deeply meditative experience – it provides the opportunity to step away from the busy-ness of the outside world and access the deeper wisdom that resides within us. All levels of practice are welcome.

Warm Vinyasa *Moksha Kelowna Yoga
The vinyasa practice focuses on mindfully linking breath with movement. Classes are open to students of all levels and offer accessible alignment principles and biomechanics from which students can be playful, explore their creative potential, strengthen, stretch and be transformed.  In addition to asana, classes include opportunities for pranayama and meditation.The room is warm at 30, not hot.TRI_1147

Boost metabolism and build lean muscle mass as you move to upbeat tracks. You’ll combine free weights with core power yoga sequencing, pilates, bow-spring and cardio to intensify each pose while mixing in strength training movements like squats, lunges and bicep curls. This practice balances and detoxifies your entire body and mind as you move through more challenging postures and connected breath. Be ready to move, breath, and ‘step it up’ in this invigorating practice.*My new favourite….Yoga, Pilates, weight training, bow-spring and cardio packed into 1 class!  You will love it!!!

This intuitive and empowering practice is highly therapeutic and will offer deep growth in yoga practitioners of all levels. The Bow emphasizes strength and power in the back body with natural curvature of the spine, creating a bow spring-a symmetrical balance in the musculature and chiropractic alignment in the body. It is a strengthening, opening and healing practice that will leave you feeling lighter than ever in your body and mind. Bow Spring alignment optimizes performance, offers powerful therapeutic realignment for the lower back and hips, decreases joint and bone degeneration, bolsters the immune system, recalibrates the neuro-glandular system, and empowers the spirit of the student to cultivate a positive mindset. Tara’s bio…..
Tara has been a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500hrs) for over 13 years certification and training in Hatha Yoga, therapeutics through feldenkrais work, cranial sacral, alignment based yoga (Iyengar and Anusara), Bow-Spring (Sridaiva Yoga), restorative yoga, breath-work and Zazen and Vipassana meditation.  Tara  completed her stand up paddle instructor certificate and SUP Yoga training and loves taking yoga onto the water.  
Tara has studied with many great yoga and meditation teachers such as Don (Brahmana) and Amba Stapelton (Nosara Yoga Institute), receiving my first RYT 200hrs of training in 2003.  As well as continued studies with  Shiva Rea, Sadie Nardini, Gangha White, Rod Stryker, Sri Dharma Mittra, Christina Sells, Marion ‘Muggs’ McConnell, and most recently (winter 2015) Desi Springer and John Friend (Sridaiva Yoga). Completing a year of formal training in Ayurveda with Cate Stillman  in 2013, and continued studies with Matthew Remski in 2014. Ayurveda-the sister science to yoga and oldest medical science where food, herbs, spice, exercise and lifestyle are key in healing and finding balance in the body. Tara is a dedicated student to Michael Stone (Shoken) where she feels she has finally found a place to call home with her teacher where practice and accountability has come together. Supporting the ENSO Community and the works of Michael Stone her teacher.
