Ayurveda and Eating for Health

Shall I not have intelligence with the earth?

Am I not partly leaves and vegetable mould myself?
~ Thoreau

The ancient science of Ayurveda is really the art of living wisely, as it empowers people to make choices that nurture and sustain balance, wellness, and vitality. Ayurveda is a nature-based approach to healing that recognizes the unique difference of every individual ~ and, because every one of us is unique, every illness is unique; so, no disease, even if it goes by the same name, can be alike. Therefore, in Ayurveda, we seek to treat not the disease, nor the symptoms of the disease, […]

Why should I do a cleanse?

By |April 10th, 2017|

Spring has sprung and as nature starts to shift gears, the body wants to follow suit. There is an innate mirroring in this process as green shoots are starting to push through the earth, spuds are sprouting on the trees, the lakes and rivers start to turn, nature everywhere is waking up and shifting gears.
Ayurveda suggest that there is a relationship between the 5 elements and our bodies, actually ayurveda would say that we are made up of the 5 elements-Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth. Our bodies are nourished with foods from the Earth, and eventually, our body returns to the earthly matter […]

How to Meditate 101

By |March 1st, 2017|

Looking back over the years of practice, I’ve experienced many wonderful benefits of meditation and do on a daily basis.  I’d feeling calmer, more balance, harmony, inner peace, a better sense of my personal direction, a calmer nervous system and mind and ultimately more joy in my life. Ayurveda and the 3 doshas (constitutions)

By |January 22nd, 2017|

The doshas are biological energies found throughout the human body and mind. They govern all physical and mental processes and provide every living being with an individual blueprint for health and fulfillment.

The doshas derive from the Five Elements and their related properties. Vata is composed of Space and Air, Pitta of Fire and Water, and Kapha of Earth and Water.
The doshas are dynamic energies that constantly change in response to our actions, thoughts, emotions, the foods we eat, the seasons, and any other sensory inputs that feed our mind and body. When we live into the fulfillment of our […]
